Hearing All US States on MW

MW DXers in today’s New Zealand will probably never realise this goal in a lifetime, and few have ever been able to QSL all States. Those lucky few to attain this goal were DXing back in the “good old days” when New Zealander stations were few and signed off at midnight or even earlier.

Reception conditions, due to local interference in various parts of the country, mean that the list of the easiest stations to hear will not be the case everywhere and indeed, some of the Stations have only come into the picture since the inception of the Expanded Band (X-Band 1610-1700kHz.)

In the table below, the QSLs column tells you how many QSLs I have from each State thus giving you some idea of how hard a particular State is to hear, an “*” indicates that the station I QSL’d is either off the air or was on air for a brief time, e.g. for a test, and “#” indicates that I haven’t heard the State yet, and I reckon the station listed is the best chance.
